A roof structure should comply with Polish Standards of designing and calculating the structure. Several basic information should, however, be taken into consideration, namely:

Weight: - 1 m2 of reed roof covering 35 cm thick weighs ca. 72 kg, and for this reason the roof structure should take this parameter into consideration.

Inclination angle: - of the roof slope should be at least 40 degrees, but the structure with the angle of 45 degrees is recommended, with not less than 32 degrees at dormer windows.
